We ended up here by accident after another nearby pub had an electrical failure and I&rsquo;m really glad that we did. I&rsquo;d heard it was pretty good from mates and we certainly had a warm and friendly welcome. After a delicious starter of calamari, we did end up waiting an age for some of the mains and this review might have turned out very differently. But the server was very apologetic and explained how many covers had arrived at the same time and his pleasantness combines with the quality of the food saved the day. Really nice roast beef with all the trimmings, everything well cooked and seasoned. The best was saved for last - probably the best brownie and salted ice cream I&rsquo;ve ever had and I don&rsquo;t say that lightly. I&rsquo;ll be back!!

If you are only to visit one fantastic restaurant when you go to Manchester this has to be THE place to go.There were 4 of us for lunch three of us had the lamb hotpot and the other only of the party had cottage pie. All the meal was stunning, well worth the money especially as we used the taste card.For desert I had the vegan chocolate and orange tart boy was it good! 2 men had the strawberry cheesecake and the other lady in the party had the cheese board. The guys said the cheesecake was amazing and the cheese oars looked enough to feed a small army!The service was outstanding, we were not rushed and had a leisurely lunch in this deceptively spacious place. Everything was spotlessly clean and plenty of sanitising areas. We will be back as soon as possible it was fabulous.

We popped in here for some mulled wine this evening and it was absolutely disgusting. We&#39;re not particularly fussy but this tasted like old, watered down gravy mixed with orange juice and vinegar. It was served in a tiny mug and at &pound;6 a pop it wasn&#39;t super cheap either, not that that would have justified how abysmal it tasted. This place is also quite dirty inside, especially the toilets. I won&#39;t ever be coming here again.

We all enjoyed the meal very very much. Food were really good and the service was great too. We will be back again for sure!
